500th Anniversary of Reformation Commemoration
On the 11th October, His Grace Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP was joined by leaders of different faiths to commemorate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. To mark the historical occasion, a conference event was held at the Chapter Hall, whilst an Interfaith Prayer Service took place at the Cathedral that evening.

Pope Benedict XVI visits Sydney for the 23rd World Youth Day. During the festival, Pope Benedict XVI dedicated a new Altar for the Cathedral.

The southern spires are installed, complete from Wardell’s design.

The peal of 14 bells is consecrated.

The first Pope to visit Australia, Pope Paul VI celebrates Mass in the Cathedral.
