On Saturday 24th November, the Friends of St Mary’s Cathedral are hosting a trivia night! Test your trivial knowledge against members of the Cathedral community in a night not to be missed. Even better, dinner will be provided making for an easy and fun night out! Where? The quiz will take place in the Cathedral College’s Hall: entry is from the Cathedral House car-park, just next to the lower gate. Teams You can either come with a team, or else join a team on the night. Please limit teams to eight people or fewer. If you want to bring more people, why not form several teams? Friends of St Mary’s Cathedral Talk – The windows of the Cathedral with Fr Don Richardson

Friends of St Mary’s Cathedral are honoured to host the Dean of St Mary’s Cathedral, Fr Don Richardson, for a speaker event, on Thursday 18th October 2018. Fr Don will be talking about the stained-glass windows in the Cathedral. The windows of St Mary’s Cathedral are particularly fine, and the great amount of detail depicted within them can easily be missed by the casual observer. The Friends are very fortunate that Fr Don has made a study of the windows, and he has kindly agreed to share some of his knowledge with those attending. Friends of St. Mary’s Cathedral – Bell-ringing talk with Murray-Luke Peard

On Thursday 8th November, the Friends of St Mary’s Cathedral are delighted again to host Murray-Luke Peard, the captain of the Cathedral’s bell-tower. Murray-Luke will talk about the practice of bell-ringing, and particularly about the ‘Ringing Remembers’ initiative taking place this year, which hopes to recruit 1,400 new ringers to commemorate the 1,400 British bell-ringers who died in the Great War. The talk will be held at 6.30pm (after Vespers and Mass) on Thursday 8th November 2018 in the foyer of the Br Hoffman Hall.
